COUNTRY PROFILE

South Africa is one of the most diverse and interesting countries in the world. It is situated in the southernmost part of the African continent. This part of Africa is renowned for its varied topography, a rich diversity of animals, birds, plant-life, great natural beauty and cultural diversity. Tourists flock to South Africa to experience its unbeatable landscapes, wildlife and sunshine. This is also the continent’s best Safari destinations to experience an unspoiled encounter with the wilderness that offers the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant and Rhino) and more fauna in accessible parks and reserves. A uniquely wonderful South African Safari take you right into the epic wilderness at Kruger National Park Or Kgala-gadi National Park Or  just join “Khaki-clad-rangers” on guided drives and walks.

The majestically beautiful beaches, a breathtaking coastline drive, an adventurous whale-watching trip are all highlighted attractions that South Africa offers to its travelers. Further, it’s not only about a big-game-sightings (carnivorous predators’ hunting skills & survival tactics by the herbivorous animals) but also you could be amazed to see the little things such as a leopard & a tortoise ambling alongside the road, a go-away bird chirping its distinctive chant in the trees, OR an encounter with seals, whales or a great white shark along the coast.

South Africa’s seasons are the reverse of the northern hemisphere. This is a year-round destination so when you visit depends on what you intend and prefer to do. There’s not really a bad time to go to South Africa but depending on what you
would like to do, some seasons are better than others. South Africa enjoys a temperate and pleasant climate, with warm sunny
days most of the year.

High Season   ( Summer – November, December, January, February & March)
Summer is from November to March, every year in South Africa. The city of Cape Town gets a heavy tourist in flow in summer.
during this time. Holiday-makers stream out of the cities from mid-December to late-January and resorts and national parks are heavily booked. The safari parks get crowded during the main school holidays in December.

Shoulder Season ( Spring –  September & October )
The best time for game viewing (carnivorous predators’ hunting skills & survival tactics by the herbivorous animals) is in early spring The pleasant temperatures and afternoon storms exists quite often. But it does rarely interfere with the Safari activities. Wildlife is easier to spot because there is less vegetation and animals gather around rivers and waterholes. There is little to no rain – the skies are clear with most days sunny. This is the shoulder season and parks are not crowded, except for Kruger during school holidays. It gets cold at night and in the mornings.

Low Season     ( Winter – June to August )
The early mornings are quite cold and the nights as well. The best activities during this period of the year are whale watching
and the Wildlife Safari and other regular excursions . The only difference is that being the cold season there are a fewer
number of the visitors.
