Mauritius -is an island nation located off the southeast coast of the African continent in the Indian Ocean. Port Louis is the
capital city which is comprised of the sanitized waterfront and more colorful old town that exhibits a feature of city life since
Victorian times.

It is a volcanic island of lagoons with palm-fringed beaches and is almost entirely surrounded by coral reefs off the coastline.
This beautiful island is situated approximately 2400 kilometers off the South East Coast of Africa and  800 km east of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean.

Mauritius is known as a plural society (1.2 million) where all & various ethnic groups like : Hindus, Muslims, Creoles, Chinese
and Europeans live in peace and where all the ancestral cultures have been preserved. These features make the island a unique place in the world and the Mauritians is known for their tolerance and kindness towards all people. [1] High Season    ( Winter :: from May to September )

The best time to visit Mauritius is from May to September when the weather is cool, dry, sunny, mild and pleasant. Explore its beaches, nearby islands, wildlife and the water sports especially surfing (June, July & August) with an amazing waves along the west coast of Mauritius. Expect some of Africa’s best beaches, fresh seafood and long, sundrenched days on a Mauritius holiday. You will not even have to use the air conditioner. Taxi drivers and shop vendors can also be bargained with, as they will be more flexible during this time of year, when the number of tourists are low. During this season, there are also fewer crowds at historic and scenic attractions, due to the low tourist numbers.

[2] Shoulder Season  ( Spring ::  October, November, December)

The summer months from October to December are ideal for relaxing cool waters of the Mauritius beach. The days are long,
hot and humid, making swims in the ocean more refreshing and the breeze more welcome. One can expect crowds, especially on the beach and enjoy a wide variety of water sports. Diving enthusiasts will have the clearest waters, whereas Anglers will be delighted at the opportunities available for big game fishing through the months of October till December. The maximum temperature during summer goes up to 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum stays at 25 degrees Celsius.
Summers in Mauritius are a great time to explore the island and its beaches and other attractions.

Low Season   ( Summer ::  January , February and March )

January marks the onset of summers in Mauritius and the crowd begins to reduce. However, yet the hottest months of January, February and March are full of humidity and are quite high on the coastal part of the island when also cyclones can occur, resulting the strongest wind.  However, it is worth noting that over the past few years, no major cyclones have hit Mauritius.
